BARNYARDS AND ROOF WATER MANAGEMENT
Runoff from barnyards can be an important source of nutrients that can pollute surface waters, like streams and ponds. Barnyard improvements contain and control nutrient runoff. Concrete pads with curbing and collection boxes contain manure and its runoff, allowing manure to be scraped up and spread on the farm fields where it's nutrients are needed. Drip lines and roof gutters keep clean water from mixing with manure to create runoff.
